Fresno Chaffee Zoo: Located in the region of Roeding Park, Chaffee Zoo cover 39-acres and showcase 190 species of animals. This spot has something every member of the family will enjoy. From the African adventures and the lions to viewing the Sea Lions on various levels of the Sea Lion Cove, everyone will receive an educational experience. Chaffee is walkable, clean and unlike many other zoos, it is not crowded and it is diverse.

Forestiere Underground Gardens: This historical landmark is the creation of a Sicilian horticulturist named Baldassare Forestiere, who produced a masterpiece, after facing a daunting situation. The land he had purchased was unfit for vegetation, so since he could not grow on top of the ground, he decided to go underneath and plant there. He dug tunnels and trenches 40 years and reaped an awesome labyrinth, showcasing fruit trees, flowers, plants, along with his underground home, chapel and 28 other rooms. He did all this with hand tools. This is truly inspirational and a good example of a labor of love.
